WELCOME ADDRESS

It is my privilege as the Chair of the Scientific Committee to welcome you to the 12th International Symposium on Sound and Vision Engineering and Mastering, ISSVEM 2007. The present meeting gathered interdisciplinary mixture of respectful engineering and music scientists and specialists. Consequently, this conference is designed to combine future perspectives along with state-of-the-art research and practice in the interdisciplinary music and technical domains.

This interdisciplinary meeting of specialists is not aimed at giving a systematic review of theoretical background and applications of the covered domains of science and technology. It is really a presentation of some research studies to illustrate what has been done in the broad area indicated in the conference title. In this context we would like to thank all contributors for their very interesting papers. Finally, we do hope that the conference program will give the participants a better insight into the extensive and fast growing research in the areas of sound and vision engineering.

A special mention is deserved by the Organizing Committee for their great effort and hard working in bringing this Symposium to fruition.

It is also my pleasant duty to express my profound thanks to Prof. Wiesław Woszczyk, President of the Audio Engineering Society, for his support to the Polish Section of the AES.

We very much hope you will enjoy the Symposium.

Andrzej Czyżewski
